Hotel pickup · All entry tickets included · Small group · 150+ five-star reviews. A full day deep in the jungle — Calakmul, wildlife, and ancient Maya history, completely organized for you

One of the most powerful cities the Maya ever built — and a day completely organized so you can focus on the experience itself.

Calakmul sits deep inside the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest tropical forests in the world. Remote, preserved, and extraordinary. Yes, it is a long day — but one that rewards you completely.

We pick you up at your hotel or Airbnb in Bacalar at 6:00 AM, or in Chetumal at 5:00 AM. You're back in Bacalar by 6:00 PM, or in Chetumal by 7:00 PM. Everything in between is taken care of: comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, all entry tickets included, nothing to pay at the gate.

Before reaching the ruins, you'll walk a jungle trail where howler monkeys call from the canopy, spider monkeys move through the trees, and tropical birds fill the air. This is wildlife in its natural state — not a zoo, not a park. The real thing.

Then comes Calakmul itself. Your certified native guide will bring the history, astronomy, architecture, and daily life of the Maya to life as you explore the ceremonial center. You'll climb Structure II, one of the tallest pyramids in Mesoamerica, and look out over an infinite green horizon. The effort is worth every step.

On weekends (Friday to Sunday), you can add an optional visit to the Bat Cave and watch over 3 million bats pour out of the jungle at dusk — one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in Mexico. Select this option when booking.

This is Calakmul beyond the ruins: jungle, wildlife, ancient grandeur, and a day completely organized for you.

Small groups only — maximum 10 travelers.

USD 160 per person — all entry tickets included. Traveling with friends or family? Group rates available. Book direct for the best available rate.

Fresh seasonal fruit and a cooler stocked with drinks are on board throughout the day. We recommend bringing your own lunch — there are no restaurants inside the reserve. You're welcome to keep it in the cooler to stay fresh.

Your guide leads the tour in English and Spanish. French and Italian available upon request, subject to availability — an additional cost may apply.

Traveling alone? One person is enough to book.
